Fic: Passing Through the Valley (Mighty Ducks, Adam/Charlie, NC17)

This is the second of my fan_the_vote fics -- Mighty Ducks fic requested by dreamtrance. It's Adam/Charlie, which I've never written before, but I've kind of always wanted to, so it was nice to have an excuse. Two down, three to go. I've got another SK fic, that crimeslash I still haven't worked out, and a Scream fic. Kind of excited about that one

As for this, well, Charlie and Adam don't really work for me, but it was cute and you had me squealing happily when Charlie invited Adam over to make out on the couch until his mom came home.

You knew I had to get the Bash slash in there someplace after that last post regarding this fic ; ) And Adam/Charlie is one of those pairings I'm on the fence about, but I've always wanted to see if I could pull it off so I'm glad I finally got the opportunity. Although watching D3 again yesterday in order to write this just reminded me of how very much I hated Charlie by the end of the series. And now I remember why I've never written him before.

Not in the first two movies, but in the third one with all the pouting and hissy fits and just generally being a selfish little brat, yes, I hate him a lot. Actually I think they should have skipped the third movie altogether, except then I wouldn't have Bash Brothers at boarding school together and that would be a crime against humanity.

Also, you wrote Adam with a death wish. You *did.* He kissed Charlie and was expecting to die. *shakes head* And we thought you were above the cliches. Tsk tsk.

It was death in the metaphorical sense. You can't hold me responsible for all the bad Ducks fic out there. That's just cruel.

Man, you made something good about D3; that takes mad skillz. I finally rented it about six years after I worked on it -- I love how everyone in the movie has I'm phoning this in written on their foreheads with eyeliner.

Anyway, this is super-fun. I have a thing for locker room fic, and even though Charlie was a jerk in the last movie, this kind of redeemed him. I love your use of 'cake-eater' too, which I'm pretty sure is an insult I've heard only in the Ducks movies.

And are you from Minnesota? Because I remember an entry of yours from a few weeks back saying you were listening to the Gear Daddies, and here you know how every hockey-playing Minnesota kid wants to play for the Gophers. (I'm a lifelong Minneapolitan.)

I just watched the movie yesterday and even now I still have to look away during certain scenes (like pretty much any one featuring Emilio). It's just so painful. The only good thing about D3 is that it's got a boarding school in it, which allows me to write boarding school Bash slash. Boarding school slash is my bullet-proof kink, so I make a lot of concessions for it. Like the fact that Fulton doesn't actually live in the dorms during the movie, for instance.

I have no idea where they got cake-eater and why they decided it would be a good insult, but I couldn't not include it when writing Adam fic. That would be like a crime or something, considering it's mentioned in every scene he's in practically. Those crazy, crazy Ducks.

I'm not a Minnesotan, but I am a Gopher. I did my undergrad at U of M, so I know a little something about the area. Like, for instance, I know that since Fulton is from Stillwater it's pretty much impossible that he and Charlie met up and rollerbladed to school together on the first day from downtown

Okay, now I want to rent D3 because it's the only one I haven't seen, just so I can see the slash too. *whispers* Unfortunately, I see straight people. */whisper* I'm working on it though.

I really like Charlie offering to hang out at his place and Adam's relief. Nothing like taking the U out of UST. And, yay for Disney porn.

I think Adam could go either way, but Charlie and slash don't necessarily work for me. I'm glad somebody asked for this, though, because I've always wanted to see if I could pull it off. Personally, I think the third movie kind of ruins the purity of the first two, except for the Bash slash. That is always worth it, even though they were lame in the third movie and barely even gave us any of that.

I'm glad to hear that I've redeemed the memory of Charlie a little in people's minds. Because he really was a complete bitch in the third movie, and even I hated him a lot. I still kind of hate him, but that's because I had to watch the movie again in order to write the fic.

Sadly, Fulton living in the dorm is not canon, but it should be considering the logistics of his hometown in relation to Minneapolis, and I won't go off on that tangent again, but suffice it to say there are more plot holes in this trilogy than even I can keep track of.
