Y'all know how much I love acapella. I'm so excited that NBC is bringing back The Sing-Off this year! Just in time for me to be out of town and away from all civilization. Of course! But Amazing Grace has been a favorite for a very, very long time (almost as long as Little Drummer Boy & Carol of the Bells.) Even if it is not strictly a Christmas song. And it ties in w' a thriller novel that one would only like if one enjoys reading suspense thrillers by Jeffery Deaver (he of Lincoln Rhyme fame), altho this one is completely separate from that group of novels. A young woman (barely) who became deaf b'4 her 10th b'day went to hear a concert w' her brother & when she asked the name of the wondrous song she was listening to, he said 'Amazing Grace', but she heard 'A Maiden's Grave'. That was around the time she realized what was happening. From which we get the title. But it's stayed w' me b'c 1- I love the song & 2- you can not read a Jeffery Deaver book and NOT have it stay w' you.
So, that's my long-winded way of thanking you for years of wonderful music; introducing me to this band; & reminding me that I haven't read a Deaver book in quite some time!
Enjoy leaving town & getting away from civilization!!
