I'm going to talk about Glee for a minute.

So this morning, while doing my usual perusal of ONTD, there was a post containing spoilers for next week's episode of Glee. Look, okay, I have been broken up with this show and the fandom for quite some time. I happily burned that bridge with no regrets, I have no desire or intention of getting back into an abusive relationship with it, and I'm perfectly happy to keep writing AUs of the characters I enjoy for the few people who still want to read them. So I don't even know why I clicked on the post. But I did.

I knew they weren't going to let Finn get shipped off to Afghanistan, obviously. I mean, Cory's not leaving the show until it gets canceled any time soon, so that much was painfully obvious. But the fact that they're going to write Finn being dishonorably discharged (just like Dad!) by shooting himself in the foot with his own gun is just so...irritating.

LOL Finn's a big idiot! I get it, writers. But really? The best you could come up with is this kind of indignity? He couldn't develop some sort of previously undiagnosed inner ear disorder, maybe? Temporary blindness? THAT would have made for some fun soap-style drama for sure. But no, he has to shoot himself in the dumbest way possible and get shipped back home a two-time loser. Classy. Also, from a RL perspective, a dishonorable discharge is kind of a big deal that will affect his future. You have to disclose that sort of thing and you are judged for it in professional circles. I know, I know, it's Glee. But still.

I just hope he gets to have a scene with Will before they send him off to NYC to stalk Rachel. But then again, I don't really hope that at all, because it would just be awful and disappointing.

Though to add insult to injury, I also read that he's going to become a 'mentor' for New Directions, which means they really are going to let him work with Will, which was my dream scenario last season when they said they were keeping the cast, before it got so bad I had to stop watching. THANKS A LOT, GLEE. If that's true I...kind of want to watch it, but I can't take the Finn/Rachel/new guy triangle. I can't take so many things about this show.

Though I did hear that they're going through with the Klaine breakup. I guess it really is the Blaine Show now. It's almost tempting to check Tumblr just to see the meltdown of the entire fandom. But I'm not going to.

cory monteith has a ridiculous face, glee
