I had an extra day off today, thanks to working last Saturday, so I finally ran my cowboy boots across town to the cobbler to be re-heeled. He was a little scandalized, I'm sorry to say, by just how badly I'd worn one of them down. In my defense, they're nearly 20 years old and it's the first time I've had them repaired. His exact words were, "I'll probably have to keep these for a few days," but I could tell he was totally judging me.
Since I was on that side of town I stopped at the tattoo parlor and had my next piece done. I was considering waiting and doing it with
jengeorge and
wonderlandchick in May, but it would have been too hard to try to keep it out of the sun while we're in NYC. Besides, it's boring waiting around for someone to get a tattoo. You're welcome, guys!*
My artist wanted to orient it in the other direction for 'showing off' purposes, but I felt the shape worked better in this direction. Also this tattoo is absolutely for me, so I wanted it facing me. He was very understanding. He was also very chill and interesting to talk to and I would totally go back to him. Maybe when I save up enough money for the half-sleeve I have in mind.
Completely unrelated, I was going to do the 777 meme, but the results for both of my current WIP are kind of lame, so I decided to spare all of you**. I have been writing, though! Just very, very slowly. Though I think I might take a break from everything and tackle an idea inspired by Kink Bingo's April mini-challenge. I shouldn't. But I'm probably going to anyway.
And on that note, I have a date with Netflix on Demand, a glass of wine, and my netbook. I'll be productive tomorrow.***

* Though I still might make you go to the tattoo place, so maybe don't thank me yet.
** Really I was just afraid you'd judge me and wouldn't want to read the fics if I ever finish them. And I couldn't blame you, really. Writing is HARD, yo.
*** Probably not.
