Fannish Friday etc.
1) I have settled on a tattoo design, but I'm going to wait until I get back from Florida to have it done, because there's going to be a pool and hot tub at the house where we're staying (as well as the pool at my parents' house) and you're not supposed to swim for three months after you get fresh ink. If I get it done right after we get home I'll be fine by the time my sister forces a pool party on me for my birthday in July.
2a) On Tuesday night ophelias_heart, who, in addition to being an excellent friend, knows me even better than I realized, called to explain to me exactly why I should never, ever watch this week's episode of Glee. She's not wrong! I don't think I've watched an episode since Christmas, though, so there wasn't much danger anyway. I was going to ask some questions about certain plot points, but then I remembered that I really don't care.
2b) The above doesn't mean that I don't miss fandom a little. Mostly I miss talking to people more than anything. As soon as I take a break from writing my fannish identity is gone, and between that and the fact that LJ has become something of a fannish graveyard these days, I haven't really talked to most of you since...like, last year. It's kind of sad. But I realize I invest a lot more in 'online' friendships than most people do. Sucks for me.
3a) I have been keeping my promise to work on my novel every day in Lent. Okay, so it's only been two days so far. Still. Begin as you intend to go on, I always say. Anyway, my point is that hey, I (sort of) wrote something! I'm not completely broken.
3b) And since I've (sort of) been writing, let's make tomorrow a Fannish Friday. Leave a pairing/prompt and I'll see what I can do. I'm not so much feeling the Kurt/Puck* these days, ngl, but I could probably manage something in an existing universe if you wanted something like that. I realize that's the pairing most people want to read. It's not that I don't still love their dynamic; it's just that I kind of have a bad taste in my mouth over that entire corner of the fandom. It's upsetting, because I really did love them a lot.
4) When I haven't been working/working out/writing (sort of) lately, I have been reading The Hunger Games. Last person on the planet, I know. Really I'm only reading it because of my nephew. I have Thoughts, but it's late and now Idol's on and I'm tired, so I'll save that for another day.

* Funnily enough, it's Finn/Will I miss the most, even though that's the pairing most people in the fandom aren't interested in. I blame the six-foot-three cardboard cutout that greets me every evening when I get home from work.
