Charleston!

AMAZING girls weekend in Charleston...too bad it was bookended by two rather traumatic/crazy events.

So I guess we'll start at the beginning.

So we got the car loaded, drove 3 1/2 hours down to Charleston, showed up at Burcal's uncle's house, all excited, ready to go in and get to the door...only to discover that her dad gave her the wrong keys to her uncle's house, so we were effectively locked out.  So we call anyone and everyone we can think of that could solve the problem, and still have no luck.  Finally we come to the conclusion of the fact that her uncle will drive us up the keys from FLORIDA, stay a night with us, and Burcal's dad will pay for a night in a hotel for the girls.  So we hit up the first hotel we find, only for them to tell us we can't have a room because none of us are 21.  I even tried playing the "my dad's a platinum points member...yada yada yada" to no avail.  So the shrimps called in a favor to Poppa Byrne, and he got us a hotel reservation at a different marriott where I was (suprise) able to check in with NO problems whatsoever.  Fun night, card games, etc...good times all around.

Rest of the weekend: great.  Spent Friday spending WAY too much money, shopping downtown, but having a blast doing it, spent Saturday and Sunday at the beach all day both days (got a lil' sunburned, but nothing some aloe vera can't handle), saw my cousin from WV at the beach (weird, I know...) had crazy times with all the girls (details might be incriminating...so we're gonna leave the majority of those out, along with pictures...hahaha)

Today...driving home, we're 5 f-ing miles from the NC border, and all of a sudden BOOM the f-ing airbags go off.  I've never been in a car where that's happened before and it scared the piss out of me.  We pull over to the side of the road, and I go check out the front of Beasley's car, where I see nothing.  So I check under the hood, more nothing.  Then I realize there's PINK FLUID leaking out from the bottom of her car (for those of you unfamiliar with auto tech...that's transmission fluid...really hard to drive without it...actually, damn near impossible).  So we all get calls in to the parental units who can come fetch us...all 30 miles from home, and then the SCDOT guy pulls up and shows us what we ran over...some big flat gnarled piece of metal...not really suprising that it punched a hole in something on the underside of her car.  So her car had to be towed, but we're all ok.  (my lips kinda hurt from the airbag hitting them, but that's it)

So that was the weekend...and while I'd LOVE (and probably need) to sleep till 11 tomorrow...apparently my dad thinks it's a good idea for me to go with him to Virginia Tech tomorrow...so I've gotta be out the door by 6 am...shit.
