Busy few days on the wedding front.
Saturday, Mark and I picked out a cake. Mmm, cake. It was the part of the wedding planning I like best.
I also went and did a preview of my wedding hair. Frankly, I'm a bit worried, but it's too late to find somebody else now, so I'm sure it will be fine!
Sunday the church donated the altar flowers in our honor and we got to take them home with us, which was totally awesome. We also picked out the wedding music with the organist, which is my second favorite part after the cake!
We left the apartment at 6 this morning to get our blood tests - DC is one of the few places that still require that. Hence my subject line....Then at lunch Mark went to the courthouse and has the license in hand. It's all pretty exciting.
I am so looking forward to marrying him. It's weird - part of me thinks it's just a formality because we already feel married and part of me is freaking out - not in an "I-don't-want-to-get-married" way but in a "oh-my-god, I-can't-believe-I'm-getting-married!" way. I mean, I'm way too young to get married. :p
Sunday we also visited our friends and their not quite week old baby. He was so precious and tiny. They're not the first of my friends to have a baby, but they're the first ones who live near me, that I see often. Also weird. But good.
I'm also freaking out about work - I have a ton to do and I need to seriously clean up my files before leaving on the honeymoon and it's hard because I really can't stay late and work because I have wedding and apartment stuff to do, but my new boss also keeps scheduling 50 million freaking meetings a day, so...very frustrating.
But life is good. :) I finally made the fudge, and I have totally awesome ushers. :p
Edited to add - I had no idea I used the word "awesome" so much. Awesome!
