I'm not feeling very well, so I'm taking a day off work. I ache deep in my bones, and I had a rough day yesterday so today I'm gonna stay at home and sleep and blog and maybe even do some light housekeeping.

It’s a “Glamour Shot” from about 10 years ago. They did the hair and makeup, and they provided the jewelry and the collar to frame my face. I never look that good normally.
02. What's your current relationship status?
Single, not looking. So stop trying to hook me up!
03. Ever have a near-death experience?
Not really, though I was in a roll-over accident about 7 ½ years ago--I basically walked away from it though. Well, I would have, but they insisted on strapping me to a backboard and putting me in an ambulance.
04. Name an obvious quality you have.
Sense of humor.
05. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
The Twelve Days of Christmas. I’ve no idea why, but I woke up this morning and that’s what I was humming.
06. Any celeb you would marry?
Not really. When I was younger, I had a major crush on Harrison Ford, but these days I find most celebrities lack the morals I would wish for in my spouse.
07. Who will cut and paste this first?
No idea.
08. Has anyone ever said you look like a celebrity?
Nope. I was mistaken for a princess once, though, by a child. I was in full SCA garb, with a sparkly coif on my hair.
09. Do you wear a watch?
Yes. Unless I forget to put it back on after I shower, which doesn’t happen much. (The forgetting, not the shower!)
10. Do you have anything pierced?
Just my ear lobes, one hole each.
11. Do you have any tattoos?
No. I have yet to see one I would want for life. I’ve done a few temporary tattoos, but I change my mind to much to want to paint myself permanently.
12. Do you like pain?
No, but I can work through it. Usually.
13. Do you like to shop?
I hate shopping with someone else, but I love shopping alone. I can go my own pace that way, I guess.
14. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Lunch.
15. What was the last thing you paid for with your credit card?
Bus fare to Knoxville.
16. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
My step-mom.
17. What is on your desktop background?
A picture of Canyon de Chelly in full fall colors.
18. What is the background on your cell phone?
I don’t have a cell phone. When I did, it was before they had ‘backgrounds’.
19. Do you like redheads?
No more or less than any other hair color. I admit redheads do stand out, but that doesn’t make them any more likable than anyone else. And frankly, I despise the artificial reds that so many seem to want to color their hair. (Not the people, just the color.)

Yes.
21. Do you have any weird relatives?
Everyone is weird in some way--especially me.
22. What was the last movie you watched?
"The Bee Movie” if you mean in a theater. At home, I just re-watched Jim Carey in “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
23. What was the last book you read?
No One Noticed the Cat by Anne McCaffrey.
24. Is there such a thing as love at first sight, or it is more likely to be lust at first sight?
I dunno. I think there’s a huge difference between love and lust, and if it’s just a desire to have sex, it’s lust, but if you are captured by the smile, the laugh, the personality, then it’s love. True love takes work, lust doesn’t.
25. What's your favorite book?
I don’t have just one favorite, nor do I have a single favorite author. I refuse to pick just one. So I’ll just say I have lots of favorites, each for a different reason.
26. When was the last time you visited the street where you first lived?
Um. Not since we moved when I was 5, so…1965? I did revisit the town where I lived first, but I couldn’t remember which street I lived on first. I did find where I lived second, though. And that would have been in 1992.
27. When was the last time you googled your own name?
I dunno…about three months ago? I also googled relatives.
28. What was/is your favorite subject at school?
Which school? In high school it would have had to be choir. As an undergrad, I really did enjoy my music theory classes. And as a grad, my English history (that’s the history of the English language) and linguistics were my favorites.
29. What was is your least favorite subject at school?
Most anything having to do with math. I did well at it, mind you--I just didn’t like it. And in college there was this one class called “Folk Studies” which was the most boring class I’d ever had. Mostly it consisted of us watching home movies of various types of folk artists (both musical and other) and then having quizzes (multiple choice) every two weeks or so. We’d draw straws to see who would go see the films and take notes for everyone else.
30. Do you like having your photograph taken?
No.
31. What time were you born?
My birth certificate says I was born at 7:55 pm.
32. Ever seriously questioned your sanity?
Anyone who hasn’t is nuts.
33. How many phone numbers do you have remembered and can say off the top of your head?
Five or six. One of them was my phone number when I was young.
34. Can you Limbo?
No.
35. Have you ever killed your own dinner?
No.
36. How long have you been living at your current residence?
About 5 months, but it’s just right next door to where I was for the previous 15 years. I upgraded from a one- to a two-bedroom apartment.
37. What phobias do you have?
Heights. To a lesser extent, bees and wasps, but I had some therapy for that, and they don’t bother me nearly as much.
38. What's your ideal breakfast?
Scrambled eggs, toast, and coffee.
39. Where are you right now?
My spare bedroom, which serves as my office.
40. Why do you blog?
Because I can.
41. What would you call your autobiography?
One Woman’s Life.
42. What's the longest time you've stayed out of the country/ where?
Twenty-six months in Yemen.
43. Do you use ICQ, AIM, etc..?
I use AIM occasionally. I don’t have it on every time I’m logged onto the internet, though.

No.
45. If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
That would depend upon the type of person I was. That’s like someone saying “If I were you…” If you were me, you’d do exactly what I’m doing!
46. Which TV character(s) could you be friends with?
Most of them. Very few people exist that I could not be friends with. I just have some friends closer than others.

At home, I have an old AOL mouse pad. At school it’s a school calendar for the 2007-2008 year, compliments of the local teacher’s union.

I’m assuming this refers to a cell phone, and I don’t have one.

I didn’t watch TV last night.

Happy endings.
