Today I met the nicest, kindest Orthopedist. My right knee was hurt years ago, had some minor surgery at that time, and over the years has been overtaken by arthritis to the point that it is swollen, enflamed, stiff, aches, etc. The padding between thigh bone & shin bone is pretty much gone & when I move it is bone to bone grinding. ouch.

Dr. Marc, a man from Eastern Europe, educated in Montreal, was a nice surprise as I was concerned about letting a doctor willing to live & work in a small, rural town like ours, cut into me. I just had prejudices about doctors who "can't make it in the big city". Mean spirited maybe, but self defensive as well. It's me he might be cutting.

Dr. Marc says he leaves surgery for the last resort after trying less or non invasive procedures. Big Smile on my part. I have already begun physical therapy for the numbness & instability while walking due to a spinal cord injury; now it will also include the knee and shoulder, to strengthen the muscles around those bits, to reduce the swelling & inflamation in those joints.

I've been in pain from the shoulder for so long, I was hoping for some miracle thingee to make it stop hurting. That isn't going to happen, but it will improve. It's bursitis with adhesions. I've had bursitis before, same arm & it finally went away. When I slammed that shoulder into a brick wall & broke up the adhesions or calcifications...Dr. says not to do that again at my age, I could make things worse.

No self medicating via walls or hammers.
