Antonio Vivaldi, Concerto for Lute in D Major, Largo
This is probably my very most favorite piece of classical music. My mom used to have a bunch of classical cassettes, probably from some tape club, one of which was "Viva Vivaldi!" This tape and the others were played a lot, especially on our summer visits to Maine, and it was my early introduction to classical music. Classical guitar, and baroque music in particular, is still my favorite.
I got a copy of this song myself at last when I was in college, on a "Baroque at Bathtime" CD. It wasn't the same performance (this isn't either), but it was good enough for me. Still love it. Still relaxes me.
