Bark in the Park was this past weekend. This is one of my favorite shows for 3 reasons:
1. Because 96.3 WDVD advertizes us constantly 2 weeks prior and during the event.
2. It's a two day event- 3 shows per day. Hell yeah!
3. There's dog booths to buy and get free stuff at.
The only reason why I dont like this show, however, is because the public can bring their dog. Im not against people with dogs at all, but its the fact that most dog owners dont control their dog in public. The leash is usually stretched all the way out and the dog has free roam of wherever, the owners not caring if their dog sticks their face in another dog's face. Worst of all, they do the same during our show- letting the dogs get real close to the show area. One dog was lunging at the entrance of the tunnel when dogs went through.
Anyways, we got rained out for 2 shows on Sunday which sucked. Saturday was beautiful out. I practiced Savvy on some jumps and the a-frame. It was her first time seeing/encountering the a-frame, and she did soo great! Im so proud of her. She climbed over that thing like nothing. I have a feeling that she will be doing the grand prix real soon, within the next few shows or so. Me and Jill (MC) discussed what song Savvy would run to. Im torn between 2 songs- 'He's a Pirate' from the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. (Her name is from the movie after all.) Or the second song would be 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' from the Wizard of Oz. I joked around saying she would have 'If I only Had a Brain' if she runs all around the course not listening to me. haha. Jill got a kick out of that. I have to see how she runs first before I make it official. :)
rock n roll k9s,
