Sublime Grave Dweller Shinko, 2004 (Chiho Aoshima)

Thanks everyone for all the birthday messages on both LJ and Facebook :-D  I had an awseome birthday with lots of dancing, drinking, and fun - I couldn't have asked for it to be any better than it was!  I responded to everyone on the last entry, sorry I'm late >.<

So I went through some of the art that I really like from Chiho Aoshima and Aya Takano - two of the girls I'm looking at for my thesis and made a crapload of icons because I can.  They look awesome, especially this one I'm currently sporting of zombie chick throwing up.  So speaking of said thesis, after talking to
marisolita a little bit when she visited my class about thesis stuff (and I saw
trehggr99 and Lex too!) , I felt a surge of inspiration and I sat down, got about 6 more articles and worked through my first page and 1/2.  I know it will be rewritten in the future, but it is still material, typed up, instead of the daunting blank word document I've been staring at all week.  I'm using Aoshima and Takano as case studies when I look at Murakami and Superflat and representation.  Part of me is a little more excited to write about them than it is to write about the master of Poku (pop+otaku) himself but it gives me something to look forward to!!

Eew.  I have the practice GRE on Saturday.  *FAIL*  I can't add - is this going to be a bad thing?

I had a dream last night that I was a museum curator.  My gallery was a one room open space (similar to the Nobuyoshi Araki "Shiki in Me" exhibit I went to in Japan) except there was nothing on the walls, and I was just walking around the white space deciding what to do...  Then I proceeded to wake up about an hour late for my Japanese class... >.>
