Winter has come... It was funny. I was outside one day admiring the yellow gingko trees that line the main avenue in Higashifuchu, and the next day I woke up to the sound of wind at my window and any sign of the vibrant trees swirling on the ground, the color already fading a bit.

The weather here is cold. Probably not as cold as Pennsylvania, but somehow it feels so to me. The wind chills me to the bone while I am waiting for my bus. Or maybe I just wasn't prepared for such a harsh drop in the temperature?

Japan is beautiful, but I can't help feeling a little homesick during the holiday season. I would be Christmas shopping with my mom, baking cookies possibly, finishing up my finals and stressing out with Sylvania. Here I am in a country where I am an outsider, and beyond of my small close group of friends (whom I am eternally grateful for) I really am alone here. Not surrounded by my family, but struggling to keep my spirits high in a place where you both stick out like a sore thumb, and blend in with the masses of people at the very same time.

Well... Midnight already... and I have a test tomorrow that I haven't begun worrying about yet. But the textbook that I left on the edge of my bed is still glaring at me and I guess I should give it a LITTLE bit of attention before it is too late.

I can see it now... 勉強すればよかった。
