Back to the grindstone
Well, I'm back to work . Blech. Its good to be home with Kim,Laurie and the kitties...all the things I miss when Im gone away. Still, after the amazing weekend I had at Aarons, I really didnt want to come back to work yesterday.
Aaron and I got a chance to really reconnect ( a term I'm borrowing from Kim--thanks babe! )and talk in a way that we have not had a chance to do in a while. I learned a few things about him I never knew, even. More importantly I realized what lousy friend I had been and am going to make a serious effort to regrow our friendship. 20+ year relationships shouldnt be allowed to whither like that. He is really going through a brutally extended break up with a truly psychotic ex and really needs my support.
The exercise program is going really well. Laurie and I have been dutifully getting up at 5:45 and walking for about an hour each day. Which is pretty fucking amazing on its own--L and I are not well regarded as 'morning people'. Kim is the one who wakes up perky; L and I just grunt at each other on the way to and from the toilet.
