Starting the Day out Right...
I woke up earlier than normal today. I know, hardly believable.
I woke up MORE than 30 minutes before I work.
So, I cuddled in bed with Ryan for 10 more minutes, then actually got up. In the shower I devised a plan to get Starbucks before work since I would be so completely early to work. So after my shower and such, I hopped in my car (which actually shifted out of park without sticking. YAY!) and commenced my drive.
I hopped on the 91 freeway, to the 55 freeway, excited that it was Saturday. I wasn't actually excited that it was Saturday and I was working, merely I was excited that it was Saturday because on Saturdays there isn't any traffic. Well, let's just say "in my fucking face."
There was traffic so bad that it took 15 minutes to move about 10 feet. It turns out that there was an accident that actually spread across all of the lanes, but by the time I reached it (about 45 minutes later) they at least had 2 lanes cleared out of 5-ish. I know what you're thinking, "You stupid idiot! Why didn't you just get off of the freeway!?"
Believe me. I tried. But I was on the stretch of highway before Chapman Ave. where there is absolutely no exits for a long stretch. And by the time I actually reached Chapman Ave., I had already passed the accident.
So thank you Chapman Ave. for not being several hundred feet sooner. What good is it to have an exit, if it provides absolutely no escape from traffic!?! Well, I propose we shut down Chapman Ave. until it vows to have a purpose.
p.s. I still got Starbucks even though I knew it would make me late. Take that "The Man" !!
p.s.s. There is a nice lizard that lives in my backyard. What shall I name him?
