Hey guys! I'm posting from my new room/studio/premises 8D! I'm loving it because its super comfy and it feels really homey. That and I've got tons of room to work and hang around. I'm paying a little more but I'm trying to get things settled so I can start opening commissions so I can help cover some costs (hopefully people bite haha). I've gotta clear those wooden postcard things too for everyone else : D I'm almost done with those~
So without further ado, since people like
futomimii I know will want to see my new room, here's a picture tour!
The overview of my room from the main door. That square thing you see by my window is the cork board that I have yet to place upon the barren walls because we're not allowed to nail on the walls so I'm figuring out the adhesives that would work otherwise : D
Here's the view of the side of the room from my bed. That little thing at the side used to be a walk in closet but the manager took out the door. I like it that way though. Feels more roomy. Lots of space for me to hide stuff too ahahah.
AND THERE WAS LIGHT!
My cupboard with feminine products and clothes. Its also storage places for other things like stationary and contact lenses and what nots.
Behold my vanity table. Most of these things I brought from Malaysia because its cheaper but everything else are generally bare essentials or stuff I got free haha : D That and some small things to keep my face fairly youthful LOLOL.
The view from within the walk in closet. See that manga on the right of my picture. I'll get back to how awesome it is later so moving along...
The rack of figurines I own here, most of them I got on severe amazon discount lolol. Brittany Lee's artwork is obscured by my terrible artwork and Vincent is getting lost in all those colours : D I hearts the Lightning and Fang Play Arts. They're actually extremely well made. I particularly love the detail they did on Fang and her face isn't screwed up.
Another view of the table. That Nijiya bag on the floor isn't mine lol. Its Doanna's, she'll be coming to grab that later. And what's that in the right corner....?
Its the Sinanju Gundam model figure Robert's been working on : D He's working on it in my place because I have more table space than he does. Its not done yet but isn't it pretties <3
Onwards! See that pretty blue doorway cover? it leads to the kitchen <3
I was extremely lucky to find this doorway cover for a steal of a price at Japan Town. These things are super expensive due to the authentic material and paints used on it. It looks pretty too <3 Gives my room some colour : D
This is the view that shall greet you in my kitchen : D I got that breakfast table and chair set from the furniture store down the road. Its served me well since I have a place to eat that isn't on my carpeted floor. Have you ever tried cleaning stains from carpet that's stuck to the floor? Its hell on earth.
The table was ironically made in Malaysia. HOME IS WITH ME ;3;
Anyway here be my kitchen. Living by myself has taught me to keep my kitchen well stocked for fear of hunger pangs in the random bouts of busy points of school thus rendering you unable to run out to get food. Take out is expensive too >_>;
That and granted a well stocked kitchen allows you to put some spice and variety in my cooking : D All tableware is stored away in the cupboards. I got some pretty table ware for a good price but I don't have pictures of that because its not important lol.
The window that leads to the fire escape outside. Its in the kitchen and its the only way out of the building if there ever was a fire. *touch wood*
The view at the window when its open. This window unlike the other place does not have a latch to hold it in so sometimes it gets pretty cold when I cook.
The view when you stick your head out of the window. The fire escape is connected to my old place, Emerson's kitchen window. So technically if I wanted to visit, I don't need to use the door haha.
Back track a little, this is the view when I stand next to my bed. That door on the right is the main door. The walkway past it leads to another 'hidden' closet and my bathroom. The lightning makes it look scary, haha. You can see me in the mirror taking this picture lol.
The view from the door of my toilet. I love this hidden closet bit. i get to put my hang up clothes out from prying eyes and I can store the extra fold-able futon I have that I use for guests and my cleaning utensils XD
More views of the closet lol.
My bathroom : D I chose all that red to make it feel more homey. And granted its a lot easier to keep clean than beige.
Camwhore at the mirror desu : D This is actually another built in closet that has my facial products and stuff but I'm not showing you guys those : p God I look so bad in this picture lol.
This is the mirror on the bathroom door. The previous owner left it here. Its SEVERELY warped which is very funny and at times, very conflicting. Upclose it lengthens my body and gives me the perfect proportions I've always wanted. From afar, it distorts things so massively its hilarious.
LOOK MA, BAYONETTA PROPORTIONS O3O
My keys and the kitty thing I keep it all together with : D I'm just gonna put more random pictures of the room here since the major tour has already been concluded : D
One view from my main window. That blue place down there is called BITE and they have like the best sandwiches ever. They're pricey but its gorgeous when I do have the budget for it!
What I see when I look the other way. Sutter Street is actually a pretty busy street so its not quiet. I don't mind it though, I'm a city girl after all. Living alone with some familiar sounds does help : D
My lappie that is slowly dying. I usually port my screen to the other monitor but I've been playing the PS3 on that so I've been a little lazy to port it back. The thing on the left is Robert's DJ Hero turntable. Its fun, but god I suck at it so bad lolol.
I FOUND KOPIKO AT THE CHINATOWN HERE ;3;
The things at the side of my lappie. you see my bright red Zumreed headphones and my cute sub woofer next to my PS3 lolol. That is the back of my monitor. I turned it to my bed to play my PS3 and to watch movies : D
My fail product photography. I have a 2nd controller that is pretty blue. My friends and I play FAT PRINCESS a lot lololol
AND THAT CONCLUDES THE TOUR AND THE RANDOM PIC SPAM LOLOL XD
That being said and done, let me talk about other things that hopefully other people can talk about too : D
First up, NIER. I'm halfway through the game now and while it has its slow points its actually a pretty fun game. Funny dialogue and some of the best English voice acting I've heard in my life. No ikemen Nier but I'm getting used to it. Old man's growing on me.
FLOWER is also one of the most BEAUTIFUL PS3 games I've played to date. Its gorgeous and beautiful in concept and I love how you just have to move the controller in the ways you want the petal to fly. Its beautiful and well worth the price.
KHBbS got lost in the mail for a bit but I finally got it. TERRA <3 SO AWESOME. I don't really like Terra's voice in English nor Aqua's but I hope it won't be too bad. That and I ship the two of them something fierce.
On to comics, the lovely
tongari recommended this on her LJ too. Children of the Sea. I've had my eye on that manga for a long time, what more seeing as it was just translated into English and her recommendation made me jump on the promo Amazon had.
GUYS. HONESTLY. THE BOOK IS JUST PLAIN BEAUTIFUL. For those who prefer super pretty art at the beginning, this has a different quality of beauty to it and its a gem in the manga world I think. Its been a long time since I've read something that spoke to me like that. I really love and I recommend it to those who would like to read a manga meant for a more mature crowd and exploring a different theme from the usual shounen and shoujo.
I really miss everyone back home ;__; I know I don't say it much but I really do. If ever any of you come over do hook me up. I have that futon bed for a reason so I can house people if its needed. My place is spacious enough for people to bunk for a bit too : ) Do tell me how you guys are working it too : D
BTW, WHO IS EXCITED ABOUT CATHERINE? >A<
P.S. Persona Live CD, both of em, some tracks are weird but some tracks are really really nice. Really well mixed and kind of makes me wish I could have attended the concert myself. Check it out!
