WOW IT'S BEEN OVER 2 YEARS SINCE MY LAST MOVIE REVIEW.
This will be brief.
(Keeping in line with the attention span of the presumed target audience for such a movie, and also because I am not used to writing nowadays...)
I am a big fan of the Expendables series and make no apologies for the obvious bias in my rating. Not much needs to be said about the plot, acting, or whatever, because you know exactly what you're walking into and it delivers just that. I will say, however, that Expendables 2 remains my favourite. 3 keeps mostly the same comedic feel as 2, but I wasn't thrilled with the young additions. They felt shoehorned into a movie that should have been solely focused on the over-50s club (plus Statham, who is not far off himself). I also prefer Willis to Ford, but that's a minor quibble.
Fortunately, there was still plenty of humour and action to keep it fun. Snipes is hilarious with his crazy face (jing-a-ling, jing-a-ling), Arnie has his usual in-joke lines, and Lundgren plays the lumbering slow guy to a tee.
Bottom line: Predictable. Cheesy. Explosions. Wrinkles. Just the way you like it.
