Why yes, I do. But only a select few items, because I've never been that big on collecting merch as I rarely get a chance to wear/display them. And since I have fickle tastes, I want to be really really sure I'll like a band forever before getting anything of theirs. For example, right now I'm glad I never bought an Ataris t-shirt, which I had contemplated while at one of their shows, 'cause not long afterwards they meant nothing to me.
So, here are a couple of old, discontinued merch items in order of recentness:
A Wilhelm Scream hoodie
In 2008, I got this massive hoodie which was apparently their smallest size. But it's extremely comfy and warm and it's the only 'proper' hoodie I own where the hood covers/shades my face instead of being just a flap of fabric that stops at the top of my head (these are the 'decorative' hoodies). I would have preferred getting their bird hoodie which has the bird design from Ruiner but they didn't have it and it looks like that one was discontinued too.
A Wilhelm Scream belt
In 2006, I got this awesome belt which I proceeded to wear everywhere, even though no one could really see it under my shirt and I don't wear low riding jeans. But it has words on the side and a cool belt buckle!
Against Me! t-shirt
In 2004, I got this t-shirt which strangely enough bears the same puma motif as the one on the cover of New Wave, even though New Wave came out in 2007. It's messing with my head at the moment, because I'm pretty sure I saw them in 2004 while I was still in school. Anyway. You can see the edges are starting to get faded and crap, so I will say it's been almost a decade.
NOFX keyring
Funny story. It was probably in 2001 when I got this for $1 at a charity stall at school. Someone probably went to Utopia or one of those alternative music stores and got donated stock to sell for fundraising. I was naive at the time and had no idea these bands even had merch, and felt like I had hit some mystical jackpot for finding it. There's a NOFX keyring? I like NOFX! OMG! (Something along those lines.)
