Waiting by the phone
Waiting for a call back about a job is like waiting for a call from a date. Except I've asked out the hottest, most popular guy in school and I'm pretty sure that he's not interested. Come on Universe, I'd be good at this job, I'd thrive, you'll still have plenty of challenges to throw my way, not least of all the fact I have 7 exams and a week seeing my Nanna in Perth all in the next 8 weeks when surely I'd be expected to start. But I've slogged it out in jobs that were underpaid and/or I was underestimated for years now, and it's time you cut me a break.
Please make the phone ring.
