Well, I don't think there's a need for introductions or anything, but for anyone who doesn't know me I'm Cierra and I'm your professor for Charms. You won't be getting writing assignments here often as I prefer a more hands-on type of method. But I do expect some years to do a review paper on what was learned and what they're interested in learning next at the end of the week.
So, onto the assignments!
First years: We'll be practicing basic charms and discussing their uses in everyday life and I want you to read the first three chapters in your book. I'll see if you actually read it by asking questions in class tomorrow.
Second years: We'll be discussing the Reparo charm and practicing it. This does not give you an excuse to break others' things just for practice, I'll take away points if I see that going on.
Third years: We'll be discussing the Incendio charm and practicing it. Since it's a fire charm, we'll be going over the safety precautions as well. Very thoroughly.
Fourth years: We'll be practicing the Summoning Charm. That's something that's going to come up on your O.W.L.s next year, so be sure to practice it!
Fifth years: We'll be discussing the Silencing Charm, its uses how it can backfire on you in a fight, such as if someone happens to know nonverbal spell casting. By Monday, I expect a review paper and what you want to learn next. About…two feet should do it, unless you have a lot to say.
Sixth years: We'll be practicing Aguamenti. And yes, there will be towels. No, this is not an excuse to have a water fight. If I see anybody "accidentally" spraying each other, you'll lose points. Like the fifth years, I expect a review paper and what you want to learn next by Monday.
Seventh years: We'll be discussing charms used that induce confusion or something similar in humans such as the Confundus Charm, the False Memory Charm and the Memory Charm. I don't think I have to warn you not to use these, do I? You'll have a paper on what these charms are and their uses. The minimum is two feet, again, unless you have a lot to say.
