That's the second time someone hasn't recognized me when I got in the middle of a conflict. Do I really just not look like a teacher? They see me in class, don't they? Maybe they just think I'm a substitute or something. I guess I am really young to be a teacher.

You do look young, Ms. Cierra... you'd be surprised how much a haircut can help. But don't bemoan looking young.. hope that in 10 years you still look young, when everyone else is starting to look old.

It's legitimate though, especially in this profession. You want to make sure that you stand out from the students. It can be hard for women of your age I think, because you don't want to dress like an old maid, but everything deemed fashionable makes a girl look like she's sixteen.

*shrugs*

I work as an barrister, and you'd be surprised what effect the way a witness or defendant is dressed can have on a jury. People make assumptions about a person based on what they wear... everyone does. They do it without realizing it. So I've had to give a few defendants a makeover so to speak.

That's about where my fashion knowledge ends though, as you can see from my own attire.
