[ Personality ] :
At first glance, Akabane appears to be nothing more than a harmless formally dressed man. His polite manners and constant smile do nothing to dispel the image either. By the time anyone who would seek to take advantage of the man find out the image belies Akabane's actual nature, they're already dead or soon to be dead. Not that this bothers the man in the least, in fact he tends to find such efforts amusing most times. Of course repeated attempts on his life by those who bore him will eventually sour his mood and earn those to annoy him a rather quick and grisly death.

The man known as "Dr. Jackal" is for the most part a hedonist. How much pleasure or entertainment he gains from a given job or task is what he looks for. He could care less about the fee the people are paying for the job to be done. Once he accepts the job, anyone or anything which stands between him and his goal is in very real danger, as he will with no remorse slice up anything which impedes his progress.

Akabane also has a habit at times of 'playing' with his opponents when they prove capable of actually going up against the man and not perishing after the first exchange of blows. The only person which has actually managed to get Akabane to go all out with them would be Ban Midou. In return for allowing him to test himself so, Akabane granted Ban a 'favor' in the sense that he saved Ban from disappearing via fooling Archive to believe that Ban had died by his scalpel.

Jackal has no sense of actual loyalty to anyone save perhaps himself. If it serves his purpose he will trick people into aiding him in getting his work done. In volume 30, Akabane hires the Getbackers to retrieve someone for him and in the course of that leads them to where he was hired to bring Ban and Himiko to a certain location. He also has no qualms about doing a job for a person and then turning about after that duty has been completed to work with the person's opposition to take something from the person he just finished working with.

Precious few know however, that the man wasn't always like this. In the beginning, Akabane was gentle and an actually kind-hearted person. He acted as a protector for those whom he admired and cared about. Unfortunately when those people suffered and two of them died, his personality seems to have split into two halves; one white and one black. The black one eventually became known as "Dr. Jackal".

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Strengths: See Entry Here

Weaknesses:
- His body is human, so if you beat on him hard and long enough, he will eventually succumb to blood loss. Depending on how bad this condition is, he may stop breathing and to all appearances seemed to have died. During this period, as long or short as it may be, he is completely vulnerable to anything which might take interest in his prone form.

[ Other Important Facts ] :
Akabane's ability to open Dimension doors will likely not be a factor in Vatheon, since I've only seen him do this within Infinity Fortress. Likely it's due to it's nature and Akabane's own ties to the place that he's capable of doing that in the first place.

[ Sample ] :
It's rather disappointing when jobs go exactly as they're planed to. I suppose other people in my line of work would prefer exactly that, but there's no fun in it for me when that ends up happening. I like it when someone tries to change the plan while its in motion. It makes things entertaining and livens the journey up considerably. A pity such jobs are unfortunately hard to find at times. It almost tempts me to ask for a lack of discretion from the client, if only so someone will actively seek to disrupt my work and grant me a reprieve from the boredom which accompanies a perfectly planned job.
