I'm starting to think that I just have no spatial awareness whatsoever, says the girl who took over an hour to make what was apparently supposed to be a half hour drive. At least it wasn't entirely my fault this time: dark + sleet/snow + traffic + idiots who don't turn off their brights + never having driven those roads before = screwed. At least the first time I just missed the turn; annoying, but easily fixable. The second time, if I'd waited one more intersection to decide I'd missed the turn and pulled a U, I would've hit the right street. Felt like such a tit on that one.
And of course, all this made my sister and I late to see Ghostbusters. Which, by the way, is awesome to see on the big screen with a bunch of like-minded people. There was a large whispered chorus on "If someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES!"
And it's strange, but I realized something about Peck: in the first couple minutes he appears, he's actually pretty reasonable. If he hadn't gone zero to douche so fast, I might've actually been on his side, 'cause let's face it, no one knows what the effects of the containment unit or the proton packs and such are on the environment. Then he lost every little bit of sympathy when he shut down the containment unit, but hey. It might actually have been interesting if they'd had someone who was level headed instead of jumping straight to court orders and arrests.
