I'm seriously starting to consider whether it's worth it to have cable anymore.
I took stock of just how much TV I watch nowadays versus how much I used to, and, well... While I pretty much used to always have the TV on while I was growing up, I think the internet has taken over that entertainment slot. I watch Project Runway (sort of; I missed it last week and wasn't too upset by this realization) and, when it comes back from hiatus, Power Rangers. Maybe, I'll leave it on if Say Yes to the Dress or Mythbusters is on, for background noise if nothing else. I don't know about my parents, but I think my dad just tapes Ghost Hunters and Eureka, while my mom just seems to turn on Bravo without caring what it's actually showing. Is it really worth paying the money for this little interest?
I guess all this crap with Eureka and The Walking Dead is getting me thinking. I don't watch either or the shows, but I feel for the people who do. It just seems like a growing trend in TV lately that the nerd niche is the first to get screwed over if the company decides to cut costs for any reason, and whatever is put on to replace it is just the same thing you can find on any other channel. It's just not worth turning on the TV any more.
