Okay, so I was in a car wreck on Thursday. I really am just writing this to vent, but I'm going to try to seperate all the junk up so you can skim, b/c I have a lot to vent about...
THE WRECK: So I'm driving on Popular Springs Road on Thursday morning around eight, which is the most crowed possible time to bo on the road, b/c everyone and their brother are also traveling along this path. There are two cars in front of me. Car one decides he needs to make a turn at the last minute (thank you sir!) so car two is forced to slam on his brakes. So now I have to slam on my brakes. All is well. I have good brakes. I was paying attention, I was able to come to a complete stop in time not to hit the dude. My body calms, I think to myself, "good job you avoided a wreck" and about that time BAM! The (16 year old with 3 kids in the car) girl behind me had not been paying attention and literally plowed into me. And then BAM another car hits her. I get out, no one's hurt, but my car is messed up. I call my dad. I call 911 where I have to assure the lady there are no injuries since the wreck has already been reported by a passerby as one with injuries. I call my mom. I look at my car. The front end of her car is up under mine. Everything from my tail lights down is ripped off. My seat is broken. Hall Co. Sheriff pulls up, rolls down his window and says someone is on their way and then he drives off. (We are blocking a whole lane of traffic here, with ppl just randomly passing us. ) Then another cop comes to direct traffic. Mom and Dad arrive. An hour later the state patrol comes to do the report. He says it's not my fault and everything is okay. I can get my report in 5 days. Tow truck comes. I'm crying and shaking. And sore. A fire truck comes by, the officer goes into the road to tell him he is not neccesary he replies with "I know, I'm going to a fire." If some one's house burnt down b/c of me I'm going to be pissed.
THE RENTAL CAR: Only Enterprise will rent to under 21 kids. Dad calls. Becuase of the hurricane and petite lamonz races, there are hardly any cars. I will have wait until Friday...all is well. I can be there at 8:30 and get a car. I arrive at 8:30. I can't get a car b/c my insurance company says I'm not insured to drive a rental. Then they say I am. Then I'm not. Then I am and so on. Two hours later, my hero, Steve at Enterprise gets direct with Richard at Farm Bureau insurance and I now pimp a white Dodge Stratus.
THE POLICE REPORT: I was told at the wreck my report would be filed within the next 5 days. I call the state patrol today. My officer has gone on a five day break. They go into his office. My claim is on his desk, half finished. Meaning it will be about 10 days before the report is filled and anything can be done to my car. Thank you officer Richardson.
THE POOR CAMARO: Camaro is not totaled, but he does not have a back end. All the parts must be special ordered since the car is no longer in production. My dad estimates around $10,000 worth of damage, I'm curious to see. Luckily it wasn't my fault.
So now all I've got in a sore neck and back and the Stratus...woo hooo.
