College Talk
I haven't made a non-graphics post in a while so here it is.
I am burning the candle at both ends these days. Between school, livejournal, family, friends, getting ready for Pharmacy College and staying in a dorm for the first time, I'm going crazy. And getting more nervous as the day approaches. I've already been at a university for three years but I commuted every day. I don't really know what to expect of the dorms because I've heard horror stories of hygienically-challenged roommates but I also know people who became best friends with their roommates. Any advice or stories from you fellow college students?
Anyways, I'm also nervous because I've NEVER been away from my family for more than a few weeks and four months is going to be like torture for me. But especially for my mom. She gets chocked up every time we even talk about or are preparing for me leaving so I have no idea how she's going to deal once I'm gone. *sigh* I'll be okay but I'm worried about her, especially if my brother goes away in a year too.
On the other hand, I'm SO excited to live on my own for the first time. Weeee!
And I'm not sure how many of you knew I was writing this (since I haven't posted any chapters yet) but I've put my lengthy (projected at 10/15 chapters) Supernatural fic "Nothing's Fair In Love and Death" on hiatus. Mainly because I don't have time to work on it but also because of the anti-female-hunter feeling that's rampant in the fandom right now. My OFC's relationship with the boys was pure platonic but meh, I didn't want any flaming. But there were some parts of the story that I REALLY liked so I may fit it into another fic in the future.
Speaking of fics, I'm almost done with my "Two Sides to Every Soul" Mary Winchester fic and I'm itching to post the second two chapters. (Be prepared to see them in your inbox soon, Susan.) I have no idea where the inspiration came from but *squee* I just love the ending. It is the greatest feeling in the world when a story you're writing comes together on it's own. It's like .. like ... ice cream and lemonade on a hot day. (Not together, you goofs! I meant the combined feeling of both. You know ... just ... never mind. I'll shut up now.) I didn't get a lot of feedback on the first chapter but that was to be expected because Sam & Dean are hardly in it at all but the next two chapters with focus on them so I hope people enjoy it more.
Wow. What a long post! I should write more often instead of cramming everything into one post. Oh well, I'm off to work on my fic uh, I mean my homework.
Also, I highly recommend relativity1953's fic "The Untold Truth". It has a very unique plot and I had a hard time betaing it because I got sucked into the story every time I read a chapter. It's a bit confusing at first but if you stick with it, I promise you'll enjoy the surprise ending.
