Oh My God! I just finished watching "The Boondock Saints" and I feel the urge to clean out my ears with soap. I'm not usually an up-tight person but hearing the f-word in every single sentence is completely a turn-off. Especially in a movie that was so well done and had such an interesting message to send. Why the writers/producers felt the need to make it so raunchy and filthy I will never understand.
Besides the swearing, I thought the movie was pretty good and the camaraderie between the brothers was awesome. Of course, it might just be my Supernatural biased that made me see it that way. How "Dead Man's Blood" was that last scene with the boys on their beds and their father sitting in the chair? It almost made squee out loud! And I loved that scene where they were practically giggling over Rocco's homemade mask. "Now Roc, are you sure you're obie-kaybie?" As a person who grew up watching "The Cosby Show", that made me laugh even more.
And that speech in the courthouse gave me goosebumps. It was so good! I just wish the film makers would have cleaned up the movie so its real soul could shine proudly.
