Christmas time is here...

And I've already gotten/opened/started to enjoy one of my Christmas presents. Lauren bought Epic Mickey and it is delightfully fun. It is however, a game that I will have to play more than once because it's a game where you have rewards/consequences for your actions. Also, I know I won't get all the shinies that are possible in each level/world. The one thing I do wish is that I could use something other than the wii-mote to play it because while it's fun and you have a move that requires the movement, it gets really annoying for a player like me who moves around while playing to all of a sudden have Mickey spin into something I don't want him near, like enemies. This is a game where if I want to make sure my kid never wants to go to Disney World/Land I'll have him play this. The dark, twisted worlds are a child's nightmare come to life. Broken rides and grim tunnels filled with things that go bump in the night (and throw turpentine on you) fill each world. I've only failed one quest and that's because I made a "bad" decision that led to me being punished later (I had to fight a room of baddies).

So far I'm enjoying the game. I'm currently stuck on a level because I can't figure out how to jump high enough to get onto a platform or my timing is off or something that is making me die way too many times.

Also, Jen, you need to play this game. If it isn't on your list of games to play it needs to be. You would have a blast with it as an artist.

So, if you have a Wii and have free time or just enjoy slightly dark twisted Disney things Epic Mickey is awesome.

In other news...SNOW!
It's been snowing here for the past few days and it has made my week. I'm a twinge afraid of driving to Lawrenceburg on Wednesday to take my final because I don't know how the roads will be then and it will be the first time I have to drive there by myself. 30 minutes to take a 15 minute final hardly seems worth it, but whatever. Thankfully I'll have my droid if I get lost and hopefully I can use the GPS to get back on the road home. I doubt that I'll really need it because it's mostly a straight road there and back but you never know with me. I am seriously directionally challenged at times.
Ah, finals. The time that students love and hate. For me it's more than just me taking a few tests, it means I'm one more month closer to being a mom.

Speaking of that, I'm apparently anemic and have gained way too much weight during this pregnancy. The nurse put me on a low carb diet which I follow as well as I feel like because I'm sorry, who eats half an apple? I'm more watching what and how much I eat. I'm eating healthier foods and less junk. I'm trading in chips for salads and sandwiches and soda for juice and water. Right now I'll drink A hot chocolate if I need something warm. Oddly the hot cocoa we have has less carbs than the hot cider. I'm guessing it's the dark chocolate. My snacks are veggies, apples, or pita with hummus and my meals are largely egg based with avocados or grillers (5 carbs) on mountain crunch bread (15 carbs a slice). I found out that mustard has no carbs and ketchup has 4. I need to be eating more spinach since I'm anemic so I'll probably make a large spinach fritata later this week. I made the mini ones mom and I used to eat when we were on South Beach and they were just as yummy as I remember so maybe I'll just make a large one.

I want this week to be over already.
