Mini rant about anime.
Like all of my mini rants, feel free to ignore this.
First off, I watch a rather cute and amusing anime called Kimi ni Todoke (Reaching you) and it's about a rather gloomy girl called Sawako (nicknamed Sadako which is the name of the girl from The Ring movies) Because she's so gloomy and creepy looking she's generally ignored but this guy sits next to her and basically opens up her world just by talking to her and getting people to meet her and they realize that she's a nice girl who's rather dense and willing to learn about the world around her. Well in order to start the ball rolling on the romantic side of the story they introduced a character that epitomizes the people I hate. The manipulative, sneaky, back-stabbers that just because the guy they like doesn't like them they decide that no one can have him. Thankfully I've read the manga (hate her just as much in the manga) and know that Sawako's naivety really comes in handy because she kind of treats everything the bitch says as advice rather than understanding that she's trying to push Sawako into a trap so that she can have the boy. (By the way, the bitch's name is Umi and the boys name is Kazehaya..well that's his last name since everyone calls people by their last names till given permission otherwise.)
Sawako get's saved by Kazehaya's friend Sanada so Umi tries to push the two together, but Sanada likes Sawako's friend Chizu. So Umi's plan backfires and Kazehaya gets's annoyed.
I hate her so much. Because I had to deal with people like her in HS and it made me want to punch them in the face, but I'm not well equipped to fight anyone. I could, but I'd probably lose.
In Other news.
Another anime I love is Axis Powers Hetalia, which is kind of like the story of the world wars only cute and shows what was going on in other places than America. As generally told by Germany and Italy (the two main characters) All the characters are gross stereotypes of the countries represented but that's much to the amusement of the populace. America is the hero who only eats hamburgers and wants to kill England. Canada is virtually invisible and has a pet polar bear who can never remember Canada's name.
One of the sections of the show is called Chibitalia, which shows Italy when he was small and cute. Austria apparently thought Italy was a girl so dressed him in a dress, which was adorable till Italy's voice cracked, which made Italy turn to Hungary and say "I sound like a fag" part of me was amused, part of me was pissed off. Hungary is the only strong female character in the show, which makes me sad. The others are wimps, which is kind of true to their country. I learned a lot from that show, poor Sealand. The microcountry is 4 people strong. It's a small base off the coast of England. He just wants to be acknowledged as a country.
