Ultimatum No.1
So I need opinions:
Here is a brief of my situation:
Part I:
So concerning next year I technically have no living arrangements currently. The plan is to get out of my universities on-campus living policy by claiming a domestic partnership with my current roommate Missy. She is a senior this year but will be taking the 5th year sustainability intern position offered through DePauw. This being the case she needs to find housing which is both very cheep and with-in walking distance from campus. Now my situation is that if this claim doesn't go through my only other option is to return to living in a dorm which also requires me to purchase the highest meal plan.... a situation I will NEVER return to especially not in my senior year.
Part II:
I seem to have come to the conclusion that after school I really want to become a teacher. As of now that future really depends upon weather or not i get accepted into teach for america of a program like it which will result in my getting a teaching certificate. Basically my four-year degree in vocal performance means absolutely nothing if one doesn't plan on going to grad school immediately following graduation. So it has been part of my new life plan that if I do not get accepted into a teaching program life TFA, I will move back home with my dad and take a job as a substitute teacher or something while attending Oakland University until I can get a second degree in Music education (this would take less that 2 years when combined with my other degree).
Part III:
This is the part I need feedback on. Let me know point blank if I am crazy or not. I have been thinking that if I find out that DePauw is not going to accept my claim for domestic partnership I should take it as a sign to go ahead and transfer to Oakland University or Eastern or something next year instead of wasting another year at DePauw. That way I would just live at home and commute for what would probably be a little over a year until I fulfill the classes I would need for an education degree. If I did this I could even talk to Mrs. Barett from oak valley about volunteering to help her out and get some actual classroom experience. I am almost 100% sure that she would go for it.
So please just let me know if this is just a spastic plan or if it makes sense.
