Crawling cutie

Carter is 10 months old today! And right on schedule, this week he has mastered the fine art of crawling FORWARD...he's had the backward thing down for a month or so now, but he finally realized it's alot easier getting around when you aren't going butt first. Sometimes I will get on the ground and put my arms out, and he'll come right to me...it makes me feel so loved & wanted. Warm lovey-dovey feelings take over me every time I look at that child.

He also does this bouncy dancing thing all the time. Mostly it is when he hears a groovy song, or if I sing, but he will also just do it when he is happy & excited, which is basically all the time as long as you are paying attention to him. He hates when I'm on the phone. Tonight I was talking to Rachel and he just started screaming his head off, yelling as loud as he possibly could in a powerful blast of pure anger. Then I would look over at him in amazement and he'd start laughing, thinking it was funny that he could produce such a sound, and then do it again. Rachel could hear him and we were cracking up. As soon as I got off the phone, he stopped and began gurgling happily again. So silly, this one is!

You know you are a housewife when the most exciting part of your day is finally finding a cleaning product that will clean your shower. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, oh how you've thrilled me.

Last night was a little something different though...I went out to my mom's "girls night" that she has on some Thurs. nights with her friends. We went to the Westside (a rather small, unimpressive bar)...had a couple drinks, a few laughs...it was pretty fun considering I was the youngest one in there by about 15 years. I didn't appreciate being called a "babydoll" by some old guy though. Flattering in some ways, but in most ways just gross.

Matt is showering at the moment, and when he is finally out we plan on eating the fruit salad I made in bed while watching the rest of 'Wedding Crashers'. Haven't seen it since the drive in last summer when we used to go there every weekend. That was when he actually had weekends OFF, unlike this weekend! Mandatory 8 hours on Sat. and Sun. again... He is a machine to be able to work for so many days in a row.

Some day, I know things will be different, but it is hard to be patient. The shop is going through a catch-up period or whatever, and supposedly it will eventually return to how it was before...you know, before, when I only despised Matt's job as opposed to now, when I hate it with the burning passion of a thousand suns! Yes, it is a good job as far as pay & benefits are concerned, but him being on 2nd shift and all the mandatory overtime is what makes me hate it. It could be so much worse though, and I am actually glad he has transcended beyond the cinema...there is no way we'd be getting by if he still worked there, possibly the same case if he were still at Tom Miller as well.

I hear him exiting the shower, so I'm off to make our bowls of delicious fruit salad. Have a good weekend!
