Thanks :) I have less than no idea what an uber fic is. Despite my frantic googling efforts, I'm still confused!! Please do enlighten me, it sounds interesting! I think you're right I will just stick with Kate and Myka, and you're right the good thing is I can make the plot different- no plane crash and no artifacts for one thing. (Though I did consider fleetingly keeping the plane crash, its an interesting plot point, no escape etc....but i dismissed that quickly...) I am so gonna take you up on the idea to bounce ideas off! You might be sorry you offered ;) Yup you're right, no point trying to disguise the fact its Kate and Myka. Actually It was Juliet (from Lost) who made the decision for me in the first chapter when one of the (rather minor) characters turned into her. So unmistakably her that nothing i could do would really disguise her, even thought of turning her into a man (this so would not work!!), but nothing even that drastic would fool anyone, so i've abandoned the idea of an original work. At least the decision is made, thats a start!

"Classic" Uber fic is taking their backgrounds (Xena has a violent past and she's looking for redemption and Gabrielle is a writer who's more of a pacifist) and making stories about them. In Uber fic, the characters even look the same.
I am a big Xena fan :) But i've never come across this uber fic before, I will check out the link, it sounds interesting! So in the story they look the same and have the same sort of general background and characteristics? What about the names are they the same or no?
