And now:
Holy fucking DAMN. I love literally everything about this. It's damn near flawless, as far as I'm concerned.
Maverick likes life exciting, and he bores easily, but Ice gets edgier than anyone he’s ever seen when caged.
Gorgeous bit of characterization. Never thought of it before, it's slightly unexpected, but it fits perfectly.
They are on day three below decks awaiting orders, and Ice is drawn bowstring tight.
I just adore that turn of phrase.
Ice TOTALLY has a list of approved things to bring to bed. Love. Iceman actually would kick him out of bed for eating crackers, and that is wonderful. And Superior!Iceman is so perfectly voiced and irritating and sexy and just wonderfully human that I want to snuggle you for it.
Ice is looking at him with profound concentration, and for a moment, Maverick is sure he is concocting a devastating barb to sink into Maverick’s ego. But Ice doesn’t let his wit fly; instead, he wets his lips, and says, soft, “Mostly, I feel like Tell.”
Fantastic.

Your cup overfloweth! I'm glad you're not getting bored of these.

Wow, thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it; I felt, writing it, like it was one of those weird, sub rosa stories -- where nothing much is really going on, but a lot gets said -- that I'm really fond of (like Brick, now that I think about it), but that no one else really likes. So I'm extra pleased to hear you liked it.

There would be CRUMBS. Crumbs.
The Iceman does not abide crumbs.

But I also completely adore the way it's written. Of course, that could be at least a little bit narcissism on my part- almost everything I write, the plot or "stuff actually happening" is secondary, if important at all. Which miiiight be a bit of a flaw, but I like it, so.
