I think the best part was Crow Horse picking up Nicky's bar tab. What a sweet story. I also like Crow Horse ordering a Coke for Ray.

I like the feel of this, where the good horse could as easily be where Crow Horse and Ray find themselves now, or it could be Crow Horse himself and how he suits Ray.

Crow Horse remembers the first night, the ache in his bones from the long ride out to DC from the rez, Ray’s hair in his fist. How bad Ray shook, but how he never pulled away. How they came together and Ray just fit perfectly, like he was the cast to Crow Horse’s mold.

I love the flashback here, so casually introduced but so vivid and with a clear sense of passion.
