I want to keep this paragraph with me forever. Jimmy and Crow Horse: The Continuing Vendetta, and the things you put up with to keep the people you love happy.

I feel like Jimmy has to keep one-upping himself, finding new and different ways to make Crow Horse cranky. And Crow Horse will say something about it, and Ray will be all offended, "He's a dog! They don't do things for spite!" Meanwhile, Jimmy is plotting.

Also, the entire section of Ray getting nervy in the office, and Walter talking him down, Ray finding a new home, in someone he can trust.

Incidentally, I cover some of this same ground in the between Homecoming and Marrow story, but this is not it. It's still in rehab.

CARLY. I can't actually find words.

How did I get to be a person that writes m/m fluff? How did this happen?

*hugs* I'm so glad you liked it, sweetie. Thank you.

I am now imagining him wearing a lab coat.

I haven't seen Thunderheart in over a week! I actually lent my DVD to someone (Maya, who recced me that Klosterman article about the teeth and resource books, but who tragically has not seen Thunderheart). I kind of feel like I'm missing a limb.

(They are going to be the cutest parents ever, okay?)

The two of them were inevitable. They both knew it right from the off, and they didn't fight it. It one crystal clear moment Ray knew that his life would change forever. He faced it like the strong person that he is, and he didn't hesitate to put aside everything he knew and everything he was taught.

And Walter appreciated that about him and understood the sacrifice. He didn't see it as winning the man he wanted so much as he saw Ray as a completion of himself. That completion is what makes a person drive half an hour away from the rez to a hardware store to buy a tag for a dog he really couldn't stand. Ray wanted it, and that was enough.

I hope I'm making sense. This story has so many profound things to say that it's hard for me to focus on just a few of them.

No, you're making plenty of sense! And you're absolutely right, besides. I totally get the impression that they were inevitable; the vision insists they go as two, for instance. I'm thrilled my stories make you think; thanks very much for reading and leaving such thoughtful feedback.
