the Bot took things literally, and the last time Fred asked her not to move, she froze so completely she had to be rebooted. This made me laugh.

But then this “You know,” Fred said, “even for real people, love isn’t really real. It’s just a bunch of electrical and chemical impulses in the brain.” was so sweetly sad, it changed the mood completely. In a world where that's comfort, we're all very alone.

Lovely Fred here, really trying to reach the Bot personally. And the Bot who knows so little, still knows what she is lacking.

This is so sweet-- I love Fred's view of Wolfram and Hart as a place for her to comfortably hide and the imagery of it as a stainless steel cathedral. And the Buffybot is just adorable. I like how she's compared to a Disney Princess and her enthusiastic "I know about science!" and the Captain Kirk line and how she's so matter of fact and yet longs for something she can't really have. And Fred's comfort is just so like Fred. This was lovely.
