“Do you sometimes think all of this isn't real?” Rose asked, her head lying on the half-human's chest, listening to the strong, single heartbeat. It was Monday morning, rain drummed against their bedroom window and like all normal couples, they dreaded leaving their warm and comfy bed.
“Like a dream you mean?”
Rose didn't answer for a while, just continued to listen to his heart thundering against his chest. “Not... exactly,” she finally answered, her left hand joining her ear on the Doctor's chest. There was no heart beating beneath it... “More like a wrong reality... like... the parallel world that built around Donna.”
“What? You think there is a time beetle on one of us?” There was amusement inside his voice and Rose turned her head to look at him, her body moving so she lay half on top of him.
“It's silly, isn't it?” Rose said with a small smile, her right hand finding that of the human Time Lord's. She lay her head back on his heaving chest and willed the heartbeat to drown out the other noise she kept hearing since that day on the beach...
