I had Christmas at my Mom's on Christmas day. Then Brad's dad came down on the 26th to do their Christmas. It was a pretty good time. I like seeing everyone around the holidays. On about the 29th the weather started to get really bad and we had Christmas at dad's on the 30th. We woke up early and hit the road only to find out it was packed ice and we could only go about 30 MPH. We made it to dads and all was well. We knew the weather was going to get worse so we headed home early. On our way home power lines were down across the highway and live lines were snapping infront of us. We pull in the alley and Brad yells that there is a tree snapping above us so we got out of there real fast and headed to Mom's. At that time we had no power. We got to Mom's and she had power so all was good. Then 2 hours later she lost it, along with the whole town. The gas stations included. We had no kerosene for the heater and it was getting pretty dang cold. When we woke up the next morning it was 50 degrees and dropping in the house. I called Dad and asked if I could take my dogs and us to his house. He said yes but wasn't to thrilled. We loaded up and chanced getting out of town on an 1/8 of a tank of gas and no cell phone towers...the roads still icey. By Tuesday I had my fill of staying there and I wanted to come back home. We got kerosene on our way home and fired up heaters that night. That night the power came on for a bit so we could atleast get warm. The next morning I was showering and passed out. Brad tried to get me outta the shower and I totally lost all muscle strength and fell. Blah blah the story goes on. Finally we got power over here at our house so we could move back home. Haha. Now we are fixing the mess in the bathroom and have to buy new tiles. Wonderful water leaks. Also Emilys fridge upstairs leaked so it came thru our ceiling. LOVELY. She also told us she is moving out Feb. 1st. Oh what fun. I had a doctors appointment on the 2nd and the specialist thinks it's a girl. Everything looks good but she couldn't see as much on that ultrasound machine thing so she wants me to go to Omaha where the state of the art stuff is so she can check things over better. On the 25th-26th thats where we are headed. We lost all food in our fridge, I spent all money on gas...hmmm I guess we might hitch hike to Omaha? I'm praying for a miracle. Something has got to start looking up sometime.
