666?
So it has been another interesting day/night. Last night Emily ended up coming down very late and she is living here more than just on the weekends now. YAY! We woke up today and ran around and got applications for her, then we headed to Kearney to look at houses. On our way we remembered the ramp about 10 miles out of town. TOTAL waste of gas. We turned around and went back then returned on our way. We saw cars broke down about every 50 feet. Hmmm. We get to Kearney and do our thing. While we are sitting in a house checking it out, a text comes across my phone that Interstate is closed between Overton and Darr due to a shoot out. OK WOW! I used to live in Lexington and that isn't to dang far from Overton. Actually the shoot out happened between Overton and Lexington I guess. Anyways, so we eat and head home. We get to Elm Creek and this car starts holding up signs just being goofy so we messaged them back and forth all the way home. We get home and Emily and I jump in her car and head to Lexington to get a trailer hitch so we can go pick up her jet ski tomorrow. Anyways, as we are on the interstate going thru Overton, the cops have it blocked off so we had to get off. Then it opened up so we got right back on and kept going BUT you could see the car that the weirdo was in that was shooting at cops and what not, you could see the cops car smashed into it and the spike strips. Pretty creepy. Ok so we get to Lexington and we are heading back out to Interstate to go home. Traffic is backed clear up trying to get BACK on the Interstate so Emily and I budged in line and go on our happy way. Oh time out on our way to Lexington the sky lit up and something blew up because half the town of Lexington was dark when we got there. Anyway so on our way back to Holdrege, we get to Overton at the exact spot the shootout happened...and Emily was talking on her cell phone. Totally just died in that EXACT same spot. We decided it was time to get home. What a bunch of creepy stuff. I get home and read that the guy had shot someone in IL. He headed across Nebraska and they tried to stop him...a shoot out occured and they ended up killing him right in the median. Yes the exact spot we had just seen. The spot Emilys phone died in, is where they shot and killed that fella. HOW CREEPY IS THAT!! OK and it is 6-6-06?? Come on now! Ok that was my day. I love you Bradley..

Mundelein, Illinois shot his landlords after being evicted. He then fled the scene in a 1983 Ford SUV.
Authorities surrounded Rivas, who refused to exit the vehicle. The suspect eventually left the car and "brandished a firearm, shots were fired, and the suspect was killed," said Mike Meyer with the NE State Patrol. Parts of the interstate were closed.
The U.S. Marshall's office in Illinois alerted Nebraska authorities that he may be in
Nebraska . According to the NE State Patrol, troopers later spotted the vehicle. Spikes were used to stop the suspect's car close to the Overton interchange around 3:30 today.
The landlords shot in
Illinois are expected to survive.
