Some big news coming out of Princes Park this week. Firstly, Shawn Hampson has been signed for another 3 years. The soccer-player-turned-footy-player has made a vast amount of progress in the 4 years he has been playing AFL and looks set to develop into a top class ruckman. He joins the list of players (consisting of Bryce Gibbs, Eddie Betts, Michael Jamison and Brad Fisher) who have resigned this year. One player who ought to be on that list still remains illusive, due to the unwillingness to accept a behavioral clause in his contract. Here's hoping both Fev and Carlton can come to some agreement which wont see our salary cap screwed up the proverbial derrière much as Judd's 6 million dollar deal did.
And speaking of the Juddernaught, he will be absent from the side this afternoon, the news coming yesterday that he has improved, but not enough to play. He will be replaced by Darren Pfeiffer.
Jake Edwards too will be in our side, replacing Dennis Armfield who will be out for the next 2 to 3 weeks after injuring his finger. Moments like these is when the split round comes in real handy.
The side itself looks as follows;
B - Grigg, Jamison, O'hAilpin
HB - Carrazzo, Thornton, Russell
C - Simpson, Stevens, Scotland
HF - Murphy, Waite, Fisher
F - Betts, Fevola, Wiggins
R - Cloke, Pfeiffer, Gibbs
Int - Bentick, Browne, Edwards, Kreuzer
Emerg - Anderson, Austin, Saddington
In some random moderator news, to throughly change the topic, I'm going away for 2 weeks holiday as of tonight, so I'll get to see today's game but most likely wont have the time to write about it. So if someone else would like to write a wrap up of the Carlton/Richmond game, you're much more that welcome to.
