Teens and Birth Control..

Inspired by the Dr.Phil show..

Do you think it's appropriate for parents to put their teen on birth control? Does this give implicit agreement to the teen having sex?

I have to think I think it should be an option given. I don't think that giving your daughter the opportunity to be on birth control is going to make them have sex.

I agree. Offering a teen birth control isn't going to make a difference. If they're going to have sex, they're going to have sex, y'know? A parent giving them the choice of birth control, (which I'm sure many wouldn't take, anyway), isn't going to alter their decisions. I don't think, anyway. It's very naive to think that if you offer it, you're encouraging it, all you're doing is preventing them from being a teen parent. And, this is coming from someone who got pregnant at eighteen, and whose parents never discussed it.
I will definitely give my children the option.

Yeah, I don't think not educating teens is the solution.
