“A Man of No Importance”
The theme of this musical was mainly concerning the main characters life. His life consisted of his friends and of his love for the Theater. The actors did an excellent job with the theme, it was almost mentioned in every single song. The stage was made nicely, I think that the designers and stage designers made the play happen. If it wasn't for them the play would have been worse. The director did an outstanding job on developing the characters, but the main focus was on Alfie Byrne, the main character. The director made all the scenes in the play transition smoothly. After every song the whole cast was involved in preparing the next scene. The orchestra was amazing too, but I didn't like the variety of the songs, almost every song was similar.
Overall I did not enjoy the play at all, the singing was too loud for such a small area, which caused me to have a headache the entire time. I like some plays but this was my very first musical and I hated the experience and the seating being really cramped did not help. I was bored most of the time thinking when the next song was going to start so it could be the last. The people behind the play did an excellent job and I could appreciate their hard work but the play itself stunk.
