Carlisle was the big 1-7. Yep. He was officially of age. This was something he'd taken advantage of SEVERAL times since waking up. He'd apparated, he'd hexed Cady a few times, he'd done just about everything with magic. To be perfectly honest, the novelty of doing magic outside of school grounds had not yet worn off

Unlucky for her, the plant was roughly the size of a teapot, but Rowan wasn't about to discriminate against good plant coverage!

In fact, he had been stopped by his sister earlier, who was dressed in very strange clothing and talking nonsensically. However, when Hannah was with Anora, that kind of behaviour was not uncommon. The two of them were... well they were strange sometimes. An endearing kind of strange, however. Nevertheless, he was pleased to see them sans beaus and he chatted with them as best he could for a bit.
Now, however, he'd begun to scan the party to see who was there. He hadn't spotted Rowan yet, and had in fact walked past the plant where she was hiding a few times. That was, until he saw a movement out of the corner of his eye. He turned and saw her. Rowan was hiding behind a plant!
Gabe cocked his head slightly and tried to hide a smirk. He didn't say anything, but simply watched her for a few moments, trying to figure out what exactly she was

Well if he found her... she'd just play it cool. Like she wasn't hiding at all, but merely admiring the foliage. Yes, that's exactly what she'd do.

Still, this was interesting, seeing this side of Rowan. This strange, unusual, and quite possibly hilarious side. He walked over to the plant and leaned over to smile at her. "I thought I might see you here tonight... have you discovered a love of flora recently?"

She made her face look very intrigued by a leaf. "See? It's fascinating! It even has little purple spots. Isn't that great?" she said in quite a rush. Quickly straightening herself, she patted the plant (which didn't really work). "It's a fine plant indeed. I just had to confirm it," she said matter-of-factly. Realizing that her patting a plant probably wasn't a great idea, she find of flailed her arms about until they were crossed over her chest trying to look sophisticated. For the record, this was REALLY hard to do in front of Gabe.

Now that she was flailing a bit, he really couldn't keep the amused smile off of his face. "So, are you having a good time? Or is this party so terrible that you're bored to the point of studying plants?" Gabe glanced around for a moment before focusing back on Rowan. Yep, this was definitely worth showing up for.

At the mention of the party, she looked confused for a second before she remembered exactly where she was. Because for a moment it was just her, Gabe, and the plant. "Oh, yes, the party." She looked around at all the people, most she could care less about, but a few she did really appreciate. "Well," she began, until she realized she shouldn't say it out loud. Leaning forward over the small table with the plant, she put a hand on Gabe's shoulder and made a vain attempt to whisper into his ear that she "could care less about these people." But, alas, her balance was extremely diminished intoxicated, and as much as she wanted to convey her thought to Gabe on this matter, fate didn't want her to.
So she more or less fell into the table, which wasn't that big to start with.

Spotting a couch with a few people on it, Gabe led Rowan in that direction and mentioned something about finding a better place to talk. As amusing as this was, falling down drunk wasn't exactly what he wanted Rowan associated with. He passed Hannah and Anora laughing and rolled his eyes at his sister.
After telling whoever was sitting on the couch to leave, Gabe sat down with Rowan. There, this was much more comfortable. He said so as he settled into the couch. "There aren't any plants or tables around to distract you now."

When she finally sat down and collected her thoughts, she shifted herself so she could get a better look at Gabe. "It's all your fault, Gabriel Salix," she began with a slight pout. "If you would stop making me so nervous, I wouldn't have this problem." She waved around with her hand a bit to emphasis.

"And for your information." She pointed an accusing finger at him. "It's only you. Everyone else? Totally fine. But you? Different story."

"And if that's the case, I guess we'll have to spend a bit more time together. I can't allow myself to cause you any distress at all. I'm sure it will go away once you get to know me better. You'll learn that I'm really just as boring as the rest of the people here." He grinned at her, enjoying her random bursts of ... whatever it was.
"I'm quite glad I decided to show up tonight. I didn't think I'd be in such good company, at least not at a party like this." He realized that he wanted a drink, actually. Gabe wasn't going to stay very long, he hadn't planned on it. But a drink or two wouldn't hurt. "Would you like a drink?" He began glancing around to see where the punch or whatever they had here

"Ah, but you miss a valid point Monsieur Salix. If you were just as boring as everyone else, we wouldn't be having this conversation on whether or not you are boring or not." She tilted her head to the side and looked at him curiously. "I make it a point to only share conversations with those who catch my interest, and you somehow managed to snag that." Ah, and now her tongue had gotten away with her, but she was hardly checking herself.
Hmm, another drink. That might do her well or very bad but, again, she was past caring. "That would be fabulous, but be warned I might start singing a few different tunes." She gave him a sly smile, one that she tended to give him a lot. That made some sense, kinnda... not really. Oh well.

When he returned, he couldn't help but grin at her. Yeah, this was definitely an interesting night already. "Here you are," he said as he passed her the drink. "Now, how have you been lately?"

Her eyes roamed the room searching for something in particular. At last she spotted what she was looking for. She turned to look at Gabe, and handed him her drink. "Hold this, and don't move." She patted his cheek, then got up and walked over to Celeste and plucked the straw out of her drink. Giving her friend a kiss on the cheek in thanks, she went back to Gabe on the couch.
"Brilliant," she said cheerily, as she deliberately put the straw in Gabe's drink. She did her best to keep eye contact then try to take away his drink instead of hers.

He watched as she walked over to Celeste and then returned. And look, she was drinking out of his drink. Gabe was really not in the mood to make any sort of deal about it though, so he simply smiled at her and let her take his drink while keeping hers.
"I would have thought we should toast to you. To a beautiful woman," he said as he raised his glass to hers. "So you came here with Celeste?" He nodded his head in the direction of Rowan's friend as he asked.
