My Boyfriend is a Mountain Man

Being the "Nice" girlfriend that I am I thought it would be a GREAT thing to go hiking with Colin and the girls. What I didn't know prior to our hike is that Colin has been hitting up the trails since he was maybe 6...

First things first - We decide to go to Stowe because apparently there are different trails there. Ash gave us directions but being the idiot that I am we didn't write them down. Kat being the Vt Monster that she is (she knows everyone and how to get to places) decides to take us to the Stowe Pinnacle!!!

We get to the Stowe Pinnacle and there are maybe five cars there. I'm thinking - wow there aren't alot of people hiking today, wonder why it's gorgeous!!! So, our hike begins (with before pictures) innocent enough. We even signed our name in the "guest book" So, we're hiking and we're hiking and we're hiking. Suprisingly we noticed that the entire trail was covered in snow! Howard alltered me to the fact that it may be muddy - but my friend you were WRONG it was covered in snow and ice!!! And as we're continuing to go I'm noticing that the incline begins to increase. To the point that we're holding on by our fingernails and toes. Kat, Steph, and I are slipping and falling because our sneakers do not give us near to enough traction!!! Then we see people in the distance - there wearing snow shoes and Steph says Oh Shit! What Did We Get Ourselves Into?

As we're crawling there is no way of seeing the top because the snow is pilled a mile high and trees are constantly distorting your view!!! I swear to God I thought that Hell and Heaven were inverted and that we were making our way to the firey gates!!! With every ounce of energy we have left (Not Colin he's a pro) we make it to the flat top - where a dog comes racing out of the woods and begins to pounce on Steph!!! She's screaming trying not to fall backwards and all of a sudden the owner pops up and is yelling at the dog. The dog calms down and we get a good look at her - she's missing an eye!!! She goes on and on how brave we were for wearing sneakers because no body does this trail in the winter without snow shoes - Big Fucking Suprise. So, she offers us her "poles" so that we can make it to the end. Unfortunatly at the end you have to slide down in and come back up. Steph is deathly afraid of hieghts and she was really afraid to do it. But we had this missining eye lady's poles. So, Colin steps to the plate claiming that he'll mee as at the bottom.

This had to be the best part of the trip because there was no way we could get down without sliding. Some of drops were so HIGH and STRAIGHT down that we thought we were going to fall of the edge. So, Steph, Kat, and I slid on our butts half way down the hill. Screaming and Shreeking included. As we were nearing the bottom we noticed Colin in the distance. He was running down the hills as if he was a marathon. He look like a mountain man. He was all like damn I though you guyz would have been at the bottom by now I've been running the whole way!!! We're thinking Ya Right!!! But he proves it by running past us and hitting the bottom of the hill. I'm thinking damn I am the biggest SISSY on the face of this planet.

good times
