Where have all the good men gone

In the last month, among my circle of friends in Perth
  • Nat (age 36) has had a daughter, her first child - she's been with the child's father for about 2 years
  • Sarah (age 31) and her partner of 7 years have broken up, because he doesn't want to be "restricted" by a relationship
  • Gemma (age 35) has started living with a 40 year old guy who has 2 kids from a previous marriage
  • Mary (age 38) has started a lesbian relationship, after being married to one guy for about 8 years (and having 2 kids) and living with another for nearly 3 years - she says that she has had it with guys
  • Petra (age 34) is trying very hard to get pregnant with her current (and bogan) boyfriend of about 6 months

Yes, yes, we all know that the problem with being a single female in your 30s is that all the good guys in your preferred age range are off the market. What's left are pre-owned and incapable of dealing with the residues of their earlier relationships, or incapable of a real relationship, or unattached for very good reasons (e.g. they are totally repulsive, or they have personalities which are less interesting than a bowl of pasta and a glass of wine).

    Fuck!

    "being single" "no good men"
