Why did I watch a huge chunk of the actual Grammys last night? And why did the powers that control the remote turn it off before the Arcade Fire performance? And why did everyone pick the Grammys as a showcase for their big loud "fight the power" songs?

And I cannot be the only person who thinks the Usher-Justin Bieber thing is a little creepy,

Yeah, I was pretty e____e about Muse performing their Fight The Man song at The Man's biggest music event, but oh well.

I know, right? Guys. You are at the Grammys. You ARE The Man. (In addition to which, it is not the best song on the album, and it is not their best album. But oh, as you say, well.)

On the other hand, they slightly redeemed themselves with how obviously they were not expecting to win anything; the collective look of "Oh FUCK, we just beat Neil Young, SAY SOMETHING" was kind of adorable.

Thanks for the link to the Janelle Monae video. I love her, and it doesn't surprise me that was the most awesome one at the Grammys.
