The days are so eventfull and mutable, I can't predict what will be in the next morning. I have a very depressive mood few entries ago but that have been changed on the contrary! I can say now I am almost happy, these are the days to remember. Today is a Birthday of my pretty and gorgeous friend Daria...She is not on LJ actually but I still want to ( Read more... )

These are some of my favourite films.
Goodbye Lenin - I was introduced to it by my Swiss friend Rebekka, and I love it, it is funny, clever and really well made.

Life is Beautiful - again it was Rebekka who bought me this film. Although the subject is quite distressing in some ways, it is handled so brilliantly and in a clever and very touching way.

And here is information about a few New Zealand films that I really like.
Sione's Wedding - funny, and it says a lot about the South Pacific Islander culture in the city of Auckland.

In My Father's Den - This is probably my favourite film ever. It is quite a complex story that moves back and forward through the lives of the characters and shows the complexities of families and relationships, against a backdrop of an area of New Zealand that I know well and love. I feel more at home in that world than my own. The first time I saw this film was in that little cinema I posted a photo of yesterday (with the yellow car) It was such a wonderful experience to see a very well made film in the area the story takes place in.

Whale Rider - this film actually makes me cry every time I see it. There are some really touching and heart breaking scenes in it but it is also a film full of joy and accomplishment, humour and brilliant performances, and it opens a window on the world of the Maori people of New Zealand.

Black Sheep - this is certainly not to everyone's taste. A comedy horror film set on a New Zealand sheep farm! But it is very funny and the horror side of it is so far-fetched as to be laughable too.

Oh thank you for all those links! I haven't seen any of that film but they seem to be very interesting. I will get them soon and I'm going to see them. The first would be Life is Beautiful.)
