It totally has something to do with it. In fact, my dad announced the very same thing, and in nearly the same breath yelled "SON OF A BITCH!"

It absolutely has something to do with it! Eric called me since I got home first - he'd heard something on the radio, and all he said was that I should probably turn on the game. Everyone KNOWS what that means!!!
