1. Married life is much like cohabitative life - but with nicer stuff.
2. In order to have a place to put said stuff, we've bought two bookcases, a china cabinet, a desk, and a dining room table and chairs. I feel so adult.
3. I spent Rosh Hashanah with the inlaws in CT, and the Rabbi made a fantastic sermon in defense of Israel -- I'm trying to get a copy to post. He made some excellent points, such as why is it that there is no international outrage when Hezbollah attacks civilian targets, yet when Israel accidently hits one, the outrage is defeaning? When asked about one such incident by a British journalist, former Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "I was interviewed yesterday by a British station and they asked me what I thought about Israeli pilots bombing children. I said, 'If you’re asking, I'll tell you: This is as just a war as any that has ever been fought - but I can recall another just war, World War II, when Britain's Royal Air Force went to bomb the Gestapo headquarters in Copenhagen, but the bombers missed and hit a children's hospital nearby, killing 83 Danish children inside. This is a tragedy of war, but it happens. Unlike the other side, which rejoices when our children are killed, we are truly sorry when it happens, and we really and truly try to reduce casualties on the other side."
4. Having left my glasses in CT, I spent the morning researching LASIK. I think I'm going to do it. I am legally blind without correction, which means that the first thing I do every morning is reach for my glasses. When I'm on vacation or playing sports, there's always a nagging fear I'll lose a contact and be rendered completely helpless (this happened once on a weekend trip in college). I just need to save up a little money to do it (or convince my wife to let me use some savings).
5. I can't think of a "5" right now. Make up your own.
