Attn Grammar Lovers -help!

So one of the things that I love about being a Montessori Educator is that it allows me to go back and revisit subjects that I thought had no application to me as a student- like spelling, handwriting and grammar. Those of you who have known me for a long time may feel free to fall off your chairs laughing now.

Grammar is actually really interesting and I enjoy writing sentences on a roll of paper then ripping them apart and designating arrows labeled "direct object" etc. while assigning parts of the sentence. After I show a few examples, the children write their own. This week one of my kidlets came up with one I couldn't figure out. "Sarah makes us run" If it was "Sarah makes stew for us" It would be easy
Subject: Sarah
Predicate makes
Direct object: Stew
Indirect object Us

Can anyone sort out what is going on in "Sarah makes us run" ? I've only gotten as far as to decide that run is not acting as a normal verb.
